What Parts can be Cold Formed?
With cold forming, difficult-to-form parts can be made effectively. Parts that are complex, asymmetrical or require a flawless final finish are good candidates for cold forming. Cold forming reduces blows to the blank and as a result, parts with unique shapes are formed with fewer blows or scuffs.

At JMP, cold forming is accomplished using our hydroforming and fluid cell press processes.
Our modern fluid cell press offers precision control of pressure up to 11,600 pounds per square inch. . In general, cold forming processes have fewer steps andare less costly.. Another added benefit is the ability to produce complex parts.; Our current fluid cell press works for dimensions up to 72 inches in length, 27.6 inches in width and 6.9 inches in depth.
Our in-house hydroforming presses create strong, complex parts from blanks up to 32.5 inches in size. JMP can form parts up to 14 inches deep, 27 inches in diameter and with material gauges up to 3/8 inches for steel and 1 inch for aluminum. We can hydroform a variety of metals to meet customer requirements.
